Kyte is a young man, raised in the projects. He lived alone and was working as an electrician. One rainy night while walking home from work he was beaten (nearly) to death. As he lay dying, the sound of the rain slowly seemed to become a voice speaking to him. His heart stopped and the rain-voice became clearer. It was asking a question, “if you had the strength, would you fight to defend those too weak to defend themselves from those who would oppress them?” With his final breath, he barely manages to mutter… yes… At that moment he is struck by lightning, restarting his heart and magically healing and enhancing him. He had been blessed by the lightning god, Volt to become a "Paragon", a blessed champion in service to the gods.
