This class focuses on the bonds forged between players & NPCs, as a Guardian it is your duty to protect the ones you love.

Guardians come in many shapes and sizes, however they all share the same thing. The strong desire to protect another. Gaining strength through the bonds they have with others, they are a highly capable defensive class that is well suited to support their friends.

When designing missions for a Guardian be sure to include social situations, Guardians thrive off of their connections with others, give them ample time to build upon rapport. While Guardians flourish under stressful circumstances if there is no one to protect, they may struggle.

Gear

Flaming Sword

A sword that emits light and heat. The flame burns hotter through acts of compassion.

Waxen Wings

Magical wings that allow flight, the more they are used the faster they melt. (Low Cost & Duration, Mid Cooldown).

Aegis

A sturdy tower shield. Activate to guard an ally for a Mid duration. The shield floats in a Low range around their target and reactively blocks incoming attacks.(Cooldown Low)

Papyrus Scroll

Read aloud ancient scripture to incite enemies, drawing attention towards yourself and away from allies.

Spirit Guide

An intangible being that provides protection and guidance. On low cooldown, will speak aloud an ominous statement on a current supernatural presence. Once per mission, it may sacrifice itself to protect you from an attack.

Red String

A red thread that can be tied around an ally's finger, creating a link between them, any damage taken is shared through your bond. Lessening the initial impact of the injury.

Substantially heal an injury of another person

Paired Action: Share a moment of mutual personal intimacy.

  • During this time you are unable to move or act offensively.
  • Must remain in physical contact with the target.

Invocation

You are spiritually teleported to an ally's location, leaving behind your physical body.

Max Range: Mid
Max Duration: Low
Cooldown: Low-Mid

Paired Action: Meditate and envision yourself by their side.

  • In your ghostly form, any damage taken is only temporary.
  • The tether between your spirit and body is fragile, if broken your spirit will snap back to its original position.
    Be mindful of where you leave your body, as being in the wrong place can be dangerous when you return.

Near Death Experience

Temporarily ignore the limits of exhaustion, injury, and even the hostile environment around yourself to act at full capacity.

Paired Action: Portray a Turning Point, remembering those who you fight to protect.

  • Scales through character motivation, experience and setting.
    A character with a higher level may see a bigger payout compared to that of a lower level
  • Near Death Experience will adapt according to the situation.
    (Eg character nearly drowns, instead they gain gills, character is missing a limb/organ, it regrows. Character runs out of oxygen in space, they get an oxygen tank etc;)
