Background
- from an early age, Phia Van Rijn aspired after a career as an actress of the stage and screen and therefore spent her most formative years in opera houses, theaters, and on film sets
- as she landed supporting role after supporting role but failed to make herself a star, she began receiving notes from an anonymous patron who guaranteed her success if she swore to repay him with loyalty, devotion, and obedience to his every future request
- believing she could benefit from (and perhaps even love) knowing this mysterious man, she accepted his offer and soon became his fiancée — but found herself just as quickly at the mercy of something dark, dangerous, and far from human, known only to her as "Mr. ——"
- admits she doesn't quite know why she's been brought to the Enclave, but knows it has something to do with Mr. —— and hopes only that she can save her fellow agents from his jealous, violent outbursts if it becomes necessary to do so
