Class Abilities

Ability Perks

Eye of the Storm: channels arcane electrical energy to increase the intensity of weather effects of Storm Brewing. (Can also consume Thunderbolts to speed up the charging up process)
(Can also focus all his efforts onto one person or group to aid them, such as a stronger gust of wind to slow down someone falling, etc.) ((Duration increases when focused on a single person or group))

You've Been Thunderstruck: Zahak channels arcane electrical energy into his Thunderhammer before combining it with one of his lightning bolts to unleash an upgraded Thunderclap. Enemies nearby get thrown back further from the additional electrical energy, while those on the outside of the range receive the equivalent effect of getting Tased

Lightning Doesn't Need to Strike Twice: Zahak charges himself up with Arcane energy from a Thunderbolt (min 1) so Out of the Blue has upgraded damage, with any enemies that aren't in the kill zone get stunned for a longer period of time.

Rock You Like A Hurricane: Zahak charges up Arcane Energy from a Thunderbolt, allowing him to hit an enemy or small group of enemies with two Thunderclaps in quick succession (Most effective on a single target, multiple targets have reduced knockback and stun times) ((A little trick Zahak picked up training with the Storm Elemental))*

Ride the Lightning: Zahak does a reverse Out of the Blue to hit a target that's either airborne, or higher up, bouncing off nearby conductive targets to reach his goal (Can alternatively grab an enemy and drag them along with them. MAY be fatal to said enemy) ((Can bring one ally with him, unscathed))

Eye of the Storm: Bomb Cyclone: Zahak charges up his Arcane energy with Thunderbolts (min 1) while manifesting a stronger, more severe Eye of the Storm while infusing a second Thunderbolt into the storm itself to cause electrical blasts to any enemies caught in the storm (Ex: a tornado with electrical discharge that causes damage and stuns)*

Perks LOCKED UNTIL LEVEL UP

Wrath of the Storm Dragon: Zahak charges up his Arcane energy with multiple Lightning Bolts, combining aspects of Rock You Like a Hurricane together with Lightning Doesn't Need to Strike Twice to launch himself higher into the air. Before crashing back down into an Out of the Blue, he forms the manifested and charged up elemental energy into the form of a dragon before smashing into the ground and any enemies that are nearby suffer the effects of the combined attack (amplified depending on how high he manages to launch himself, as it says in Out of the Blue) ((Will drain more Essence than both Perks would, causing the cooldown to be slightly longer))

The Perfect Storm: Zahak unleashes his charged up Arcane energy while absorbing the power from his Lightning Bolts into his most powerful invoking of Eye of the Storm yet, forming an incredibly strong storm around either an entire area, himself and his allies for defensive purposes, etc. (He can control the intensity he unleashes, but it remains at that intensity and can't go higher. Ex: If he summons a Category 1 hurricane around him, he can't intensify it into a Category 2, etc.)

Class Gear

Appearance

mid 30s man, Germanic or Nordic in appearance, blond hair in a crew cut, short full beard. 6'7" Tall with lean muscles, looks very tough and intimidating. Long scar going from his forehead down into his beard. Wears a long black trenchcoat over his gear, dark clothing, and sunglasses which stay on no matter what the mission is.

Permanent electrical burn marks around his eyes and on other parts of his body after his clash with a storm elemental in Belreath. He eventually allowed Enclave Medical to heal most of the wounds, so long as they left most of the wounds around his eyes.

Acquired a wound during his battle with the Eye of the Storm in the Bruxia Kingdom. Out of respect for his opponent's power, he refuses to let Enclave medical heal the wound completely, but to keep the scar and the electrical burn around it.
He may or may not be human, especially due to his very high tolerance for pain. (True form as of now has yet to be seen) ((Confirmed to not be human, during his conversation with King Aethelgard, the Bone Crowned Monarch

Underneath his Feathered Cloak, he wears a set of wrist gauntlets that seem to be some sort of power absorber or limiter. True use remains unknown for now.

Background

very little information known about this man, and he doesn’t exactly help by not talking very much about himself. Claims to have wandered for quite some time, evidenced from the wear and tear on his boots. He seems to be a decently skilled mercenary. Though from time to time in certain scenarios, he will get an odd look on his face, as if he's reminded of memories of his former life. He may also mutter things about his past, though if his fellow agents aren't paying attention, they may not catch it.

During his mission in the Chamber of the Six Fold Lands, Zahak offered to recruit the Junior Archivist if the Enclave doesn't recruit her, and she seemed interested when he said he knows someone who's 'always looking for talented individuals', hinting that Zahak might have some powerful allies outside the Enclave, or may have additional loyalties....

It was recently revealed at the conclusion of his latest mission in the Bruxia Kingdom that he is actually royalty, the 8th son of a Khan in a distant homeland, along with a warlord in his own right, with territories to call his own. He and his family are confirmed to be powerful vassals to their Khagan, who he has only referred to as "The Eastern Wind"

During his mission to drive off the Hunger in Tideborn space, Zahak demonstrated the ability to transfer the energy from his Ice themed Lightning Bolts to his allies to act as thermal camouflage. It remains to be seen if he can do that with other elements, or if he can increase the duration of it. His mission in the Dawncrest Kingdom has shown he can do the same with his normal Lightning Bolts, when he transferred some of the electrical energy to his allies to protect them from angry spirits on their journey to King Aethelgard's citadel.

While most of the relics the party gathered are in Melissa's safe hands as she is protected in Zahak's capital and heavily guarded by his elite Keshig, Zahak wields the Blade of the Oathbreaker, which will deal extra damage to all who have broken their vows and oaths.

Flavor

Known only as Zahak, this mysterious warrior exudes an aura of mystery around him, as very little about his past is known, even to members of the Enclave. While his eyes are almost always covered by his sunglasses, it's clear that he's always sizing up his surroundings and his allies. While he can and will come up with comprehensive battle plans, he is also quick to improvise if necessary. Zahak seems to be very skilled at occupying an enemy's attention, and drawing it away from wounded allies.

However, during his mission in the Soulless Lands, he seemed to let a little bloodlust out while he blasted the invading army with his Thunderbolts and Thunderclap. Usually stoic, this could just be a one time thing, or maybe he let's loose when he's facing unlikely odds. On the same mission, he advised his ally Danarei to search for anyone among the army with different uniforms, on horseback, or towards the rear, suggesting they might be command personnel who should be targeted first to sow chaos amongst enemy forces. This hints at prior military experience or knowledge, including his remarks about an obscure last stand by a few against a large army.

During his mission into The Simulation, Zahak channeled enough arcane energy to enhance the effects of Storm Brewing for the first time to save Ardis from hitting the ground at terminal velocity. By focusing on only them, he enhanced the power of the summoned gust of wind to slow her fall enough for her to land safely. This new ability perk of his, due to the focusing on a smaller area or group, has been dubbed "Eye of the Storm"

He seems to wear an unusual symbol around his neck, which he often tucks inside his armor for safe-keeping on missions. It's unknown exactly where he hails from in Manifold, or even if he's from any known location at all.

His Thunderhammer is a long, two-handed variety with some kind of holder attached to it. What it's for, will be revealed shortly....... The holder ended up being an amplifier of sorts, combining the Thunderbolt's power with the Thunderhammer to increase the power of Thunderclaps. Zahak has dubbed this skill "You've been Thunderstruck"

During his mission in the flying city of Belreath, Zahak faced off against a humanoid storm elemental. He came away with some permanent burn scars on his body, but they ultimately parted as friendly adversaries upon the mission's success. The storm welcomed him to challenge it again any time, while Zahak seemed to sympathize with the elemental, one wanderer to another.

While on that same mission in Belreath, Zahak displayed the interesting ability to use his Thunderbolts to charge up his arcane energy to speed up Storm Brewing and Eye of the Storm. It is unknown if he is capable of doing this with other perks, or even what the long term effects will be......

While Zahak continues using his Thunderbolts to charge up his Arcane energy and power his attacks, they might be affecting his personality somewhat when he's charged up with power....

Zahak holds opponents who can give him a challenge in high respect, and will forgo his usual bloodlust when charged up and speak to them politely with respect, which grows the longer the battle lasts.
During his battle with The Eye of the Storm, Simon Thornside in the Bruxia Kingdom, Zahak pitied the man for the tragedies that led him to crossing blades, opening saying he wished they could've been allies instead of enemies. At his enemy's last request, Zahak executed him. With the battle over, Zahak took his fallen opponent's body to give him a warrior's burial next to the grave of his deceased daughter. One last act of respect to honor his opponent.

Zahak views his word as his bond, so if he gives his word that he will do something, he will do it.

Zahak's Spatha short sword can also be infused with his Lightning bolts like his Thunderhammer can, shrouding the blade in elemental energy. It also has a curved appearance like a scimitar. He has also replaced his damaged Feathered Cloak with one that has a new wing design, with black raven feathers. After a serious training session with the storm elemental, Zahak has replaced his worn out Talaria with a set of boots with dragon's wings engraved on them, which seem to have the same power and function the same as the Talaria did.

At least one of the sets of Lightning Bolts Zahak carries is non-electrical based, as his battle with The Eye of the Storm made him ensure he had methods to counter opponents who can absorb his electrical attacks. So he embarked on a weeklong training spree with the storm elemental in an Arctic-like location to craft those along with honing the skills to use them. In that same battle, he cut off his opponent from the rest of the fighting using his Eye of the Storm perk. And he may be able to use some other tricks involving that perk as well......

Zahak has also borrowed a tactic or two used by his most recent opponent The Eye of the Storm. With training from the storm elemental he first crossed paths with in Belreath, he has become skilled enough in it to utilize it in missions, making him even more dangerous to his enemies.

During his mission in the lands of Polaris, Zahak developed great respect for the battle capabilities of Sir Gemma and her companions. When she had to withdraw from her battle with the Solaris Knight due to injuries, Zahak shot the demon general a death glare before covering the withdrawal, hinting that things are not over between the two of them. When they returned to the Knights Stellar camp on the edge of the mistake, Zahak offered to return if Sir Gemma goes after him again to aid in removing the Solaris Knight's head from his shoulders.

On his mission in the Dawncrest Kingdom, Zahak swore an oath in the name of his goddess and on his oath of fealty to his overlord to King Aethelgard, the Bone Crowned Monarch, that he would aid in investigating his claims and would help gain justice and vengeance for the King on the nations who poisoned him at a peace treaty centuries ago. When assassins sent by the Dawncrest Queen attacked the party, an enraged Zahak took it one step further, declaring war on the kingdom and the other nations. Before pinging out, he escorted Melissa the necromancer on horseback to a rendezvous point outside of hostile territory, where his people would give her safe passage to his distant stronghold where she will be protected while he marshals his forces for war.

Zahak has confirmed himself to not be human, stating to the Bone Crowned Monarch that he knows what it's like to be called "monster", "abomination, and "demon" so he instantly felt a bond with the fallen king. (His true form may be revealed soon)

Ideas

Perhaps his allies and fellow agents will learn more about his past as time goes on........ and perhaps not.

Previous experience as a mercenary more or less confirmed........ but for whom did he fight?
Confirmed to have fought as part of his family's armies, the Barzikani Army, along with the forces of his father's Khanate and the Khaganate as well.
He will DEFINITELY cross paths with the storm elemental again............. more than a few times.
(Confirmed that he's been training with the storm elemental in between missions, since it accepted his request to train him and it's power level is similar to that of his legendary father.
Zahak learns from the combat strategies of every difficult opponent he faces and adapts some of them to his own fighting style, making him more dangerous to his enemies with each mission he goes on.

Zahak will keep his word to aid Sir Gemma in eliminating the Solaris Knight if their paths cross again.....

Zahak DESPISES oath breakers and kinslayers, and he immediately turned against Dawncrest and their allies upon hearing the truth from King Aethelgard. Upon hearing the Inquisitor who was their original contact order his men to kill Melissa, the necromancer that they saved from a binding ritual that would've killed her, Zahak immediately took her into his protection. She's currently safe in his capital as an honored guest, heavily protected by his Keshig, his elite personal guard numbering 10,000 strong.
