Zahak (Origin)'s Missions

Agents arrived in the mayor of Porchside’s office, and discussed plans to meet with Prize Pumpkin with Broccoli Sam and Mango Gary, the mayor. Something seemed a bit off with Mango Gary, as he seemed very itchy and kept blurting things out that seemed very unusual

Patch and Zahak departed for the Grand Gazebo alongside Mango Gary and a small entourage. Reginald visited the local library and read some books regarding the history and geography of the area. Tristam visited a local hospital and learned that the malady affecting Mango Gary may be related to the raids by the Coblins.

Speaking of Coblin raids, Patch and Zahak were ambushed by Coblins on their travel. They managed to fend them off, but Patch was pricked by a thorn, and began exhibiting some worrisome symptoms similar to Mango Gary’s. Tristam and Reginald hitched a ride with Broccoli Sam on his motorbike and caught up with the advance group.

In the Grand Gazebo, the agents met the Prize Pumpkin, who was actually a giant onion named Artichoke. He was not particularly receptive to the porchsiders’ request. Patch seemed notably off, saying things they didn’t mean to, but did their utmost to minimize outbursts. At that moment, Eggplant Caro-Khan, the son of the Prize Pumpkin, burst into the throne room with an entourage of Coblins.

Discourse quickly turned sour and a skirmish erupted,  as Eggplant and the Coblins attacked with molten corn syrup shooters, fern chainsaws, and spiked vines protruding from their backs. Zahak discovered that some unseen force was suppressing his lightning powers, but through a heated effort involving a flurry of crows being summoned, a fierce hurricane, and gas that gave all of the coblins horrible diarrhea, the agents managed to gain the upper hand, forcing the Coblins into a speedy retreat by means of their vines towards a giant statue of a gardener bearing a tree.

Reginald found a tunnel and took a stealthy route while the others followed the vengeful veggies in hot pursuit. In a very stylish fashion, Zahak and Patch managed to slay Eggplant, but with his last breath, he lobbed an explosive at the tree held by the statue, exploding it.

As it burst, both the coblins and Patch suddenly doubled over, as the parasites infesting them, known as the “Backtalkers,” emerged as facsimiles of their hosts, conjoined by the back. Patch fended off their evil double as long as they could, but succumbed to their extreme wounds and exhaustion. With their last conscious breath, they summoned their ultimate strike phantom. The remaining agents bravely fought off the Backtalker-Coblins, before Tristam critically wounded the false Patch with warding stones and Zahak dealt the finishing blow.

The agents had a brief tea break before returning to the gazebo, where there was quite a mess from Backtalker-Mango Gary’s breakout. The agents cleaned things up before uncovering that the Prize Pumpkin was actually critically ill from natural causes, and he promptly dropped dead. With succession broken, the agents galvanized those present to anoint the humble Broccoli Sam as the new leader of the Rough Patch. His first decree was to grant sovereignty to Porchside. Zahak, Barnaby and Clara join forces with the Knights Stellar in charging deep into the Mistake to fight their way through the demon hordes, so Sir Gemma can have her duel with the Solaris Knight, and preferably kill the demon general. Despite their best efforts, her injuries took her out of the battle and the surviving Knights had to withdraw with her. From the death glare Zahak shot at the Solaris Knight before he joined his allies in the retreat, he might decide to go after him himself if Sir Gemma doesn't cross blades with him again.......

Zahak meets his match in the form of Simon Thornside, The Eye of the Storm as they clash inside the capital of the Bruxia Kingdom. Despite a surprisingly even fight, Zahak ends up victorious, executing Simon at his last request. However, out of respect for his opponent's skills, along with sympathy for the events that led him to that point, Zahak made sure to bring his opponent's body away from the castle to give him a burial befitting a warrior.
