Background

Erizel-Xha was not born into the Enclave. He began life in a different Faerûn, hailing from Rasheman much like his prime the Hathran Erizel. However, his life took a drastic turn when a perilous attempt to divine a long-lost Weave secret backfired, tearing a hole in the fabric of his reality. In that Gray he forged a Pact with someone or something. This might have been Celestial or Fiendish, most likely a pact bound in a Tome.

He didn't simply jump worlds; he was pulled through the chaotic Gray, the space between dimensions. He spent an untold time—perhaps moments, perhaps decades—adrift in that non-space, the raw knowledge and psychic residue of other realities scouring his mind. When he finally crashed into this new world, he was utterly disoriented, his memories fragmented and his arcane power warped. His initial Warlock magic was muted, replaced by a desperate, instinctual grab for knowledge as a shield.

The Enclave found him first, near a nexus of aberrant energy. Recognizing the unique signature of multiversal travel and the terrifying potential of his fractured mind, they didn't imprison him—they recruited him. The Enclave assigned him the designation Erizel-Xha (a riff on the original name with an X-code for 'extra-planar') and placed him in the Librarian class, a role he took to with an almost manic zeal.

His original patron may have revealed to him that there are countless Erizels across the cosmos, and they are starting to become aware of one another. Worse, in certain realities, the sheer concentration of their individual power has begun to draw the attention of immense, predatory entities, threatening to collapse those realities into a single, disastrous composite.
