Arthur Boomwhistle

Wax wrathful to grow in size and shroud yourself with destructive natural forces, to which you yourself are not wholly immune, but which offer substantial protection against enemy magics.

Essence Cost: Mid
Max Duration Mid
Cooldown: Mid
Paired Action: Portray aTurning Point showing your character exploding with well-founded exasperation.

• Size increase intuitively boosts physical capacities; also applies to user’s gear. Typically caps out at around double normal size.
• Destructive forces are Pitched (fire, lightning, wind, cold, etc.) and must remain very close to the user, like an expansive cape. These cannot be directly controlled and will increasingly harm the user the longer the ability is sustained, leading to serious injuries by the end of the ability’s maximum duration.
• An intense but reasonably controllable Altered State (pg31), this ability ends early if the user believably calms down.

Endure great suffering to experience a revelation about an important question you have been pondering.

Essence Cost: Mid
Cooldown: Mid
Paired Action: Specify the question you are interested in to your Conduit while making a physical self-sacrifice.

• Value & relevance of the experienced revelation scale on the significance of the damage the user has sustained through the Paired Action. Conduit is encouraged to give follow-up Insights (pg26) if the revelation they have given does not feel fully commensurate.
• Injuries sustained through the Paired Action are Stabilized (pg36) once the ability subsides.
• Paired Action is NOT limited to self-inflicted injuries but must ALWAYS be willingly endured by the user. Injuries will not fully stabilize if externally-sourced.

Impose a temporary but immediate unseasonable change upon your surroundings, instilling either hope or dread in onlookers as fitting.

Essence Cost: Low-High
Duration: Mid
Cooldown: Mid
Paired Action: Deliver a short, serious speech that aims to either embolden or dishearten its listeners.

• Unseasonable changes are Pitched but do NOT need to be in any way plausible (snow in a desert, day turning to night, etc.) and will, at base, only affect a Low-sized area rather than the entire local environment; the less plausible the Pitched change and the larger the affected area, the more expensive the ability.
• Pitched change returns to normal gradually once the ability ends, even though it was brought about immediately.

Decorated outdoorsman’s cap, offering Low environmental protection. Allows the user's voice to emit from any location within a Low distance at will. Also allows for uncanny imitation of natural sounds, with authenticity scaling on user’s familiarity.

Old and battered, giving High environmental protection. Boosts walking speed in proportion to how deep in thought the user is. You may Pitch the existence of a simple nearby hideout and its supplies/furnishings by unhurriedly hanging this cloak next to it.

Unassuming carven stick. Boosts the volume of the user’s voice up to a Mid amount while they are behaving in a dramatic, vehement fashion; if the staff is fittingly brandished, user’s amplified voice will also gain physical impact force at Low Cost.

Delicate crystal ball. Peer into it to Pitch an event that is soon to happen. If accepted by the Conduit, the user will sustain intense, unavoidable magical damage scaling in deadliness on how beneficial the Pitch is to themselves and their allies.
