Background
Homeworld: Vespera
City: Blackharbor
Shawn’s homeworld of Vespera had a curse placed upon it by a witch of constant twilight and many thunderstorms. The city of Blackharbor is a port town with deep entrenched organized crime in which gangs and mobs truly run the show while the police and government are very weak. Shawn grew up on the dimly lit streets of Blackharbor where nothing is given and must be fought for, and Shawn like many children of Blackharbor was an orphan forced to do what was necessary to survive. He had formed a close bond with a group of younger kids that he took to protect and provide for, often at his own expense. Shawn despite his lack of formal education at a young age possessed a sharp mind which was key to his survival. He used his talents to scam, lie, and take all that he could so they could survive without having to join a gang of criminals. On one fateful night Shawn tried running one of his cons on the wrong man, he wasn't a drunk dockworker or sailor, but rather a well dressed stranger that Shawn hadn’t seen around the Blackharbor docks before. Shawn lifted his wallet and ran like hell but the mysterious man caught up. He revealed himself to be a man called Mr. Vale, a gentlemanly mage who taught Shawn to hone his magical talents and his analytical mind. Shawn grew and started Specter Private Investigation to clean up his city one case at a time.
