Background

Quintus Agrippa was created out of the imagination of Jharek, a member of the hedonistic Dancers at the End of Time, to be his champion in a simulated race against other such creations. Jharek created Quintus as a Roman-style charioteer but Jharek had only a fragmented high level understanding of what that means and thus so does Quintus.

An Enclave team convinced Jharek to allow Quintus to continue to exist instead of dissolving him with the rest of the racers. Quintus joined in the various entertainments the Dancers created to while away eternity often as a general to fight battles for their amusement. Jharek was the closest thing the Dancers had to a historian and Quintus started to learn and gain an interest in histories and other realities. So Quintus made a deal with his creator, Jharek would arrange for Quintus to join the Enclave and travel these worlds provided he would return with new knowledge and amusements.
