Mission Statement

A Beckoning from The Protagonia Thiasos, one of the foremost performing troupes in Theapolis:

“We are, like, totally screwed. Our theater company is one of the most banging on the scene, but right now… this ain’t it. We’re on in an hour but our cast has dipped, my script is gonezo, and there’s a whole-ass flame war over who gets to post up at the Acropolis tonight.

Our opps at Antagonia are being shady as hell, and we gotta make tonight count or else the whole polis will think we’re washed Me and my sisters run this joint, but Lacie’s been out to lunch. She’s the one that’s supposed to be finessing the daily details, but she ain’t putting the fries in the bag, no cap. On gods, we need a solid from y’all, it's getting pretty skibidi out here

Please, help get our vibes on fleek so we can serve major c**t, we finna flex on our haters or die trying. And that's on period."

—Chloe Morai, co founder of the Protagonia Thiasos (translation from attendant: Assist the troupe in putting on a successful production in an hour at the Acropolis theater.)

Mission Summary

The agents, Alice the Librarian, Penn Gwyn the Thane, and Lord Frobisher and Professor Chronotis the Oddballs, arrived outside the Protagonia Thiasos building. They went inside, being greeted by Adrienne, Chloe's sister. She ushered them through, seeing the state of the place in utter disarray, and found Chloe. She was distraught, as the script she had written had been burned recently, and her cast had also gone missing. Professor Chronotis went to seek out more cast members while the others followed the trail of ash.

At the end of the ash trail, they found the third sister Lacie, who seemed to be in a sort of daze. The agents eventually realized that this was due to her burrito being laced with some impairing compound. Alice gave her some playwriting knowledge, and she managed to produce a half-decent draft of the play Chloe had formerly been working on, centered around the great "Gigachadeus." Alice then gave her some hypnotic suggestions to make her a more apt stage manager, even in her addled state.

Professor Chronotis temporarily shifted the time to lunch and caught a troupe of actors on their lunch break. The motley crew agreed to join for the opportunity to perform at the acropolis, but they still didn't have a perfect lead for Gigachadeus. When the troupe returned, Lacie sprang into action, getting everything ready, and she saw Penn Gwynn and realized that he would be the perfect leading man/penguin.

However, Chloe came in flustered, because the troupe had just been banned from performing at the acropolis. They went to go contest this at the agora. Frobisher and Penn Gwyn made an impassioned case while Chronotis distracted the archons and ferried them off towards the acropolis. Upon seeing the massive crowd gathering from the agora, the archons decided to allow the performance, to the chagrin of the rival troupe Antagonia.

The play kicked off, and at first all was well. Penn Gwyn was doing wonderfully as the lead, and the other agents were in the audience or assisting backstage. However, Adrienne seemed displeased, and she stormed off in the middle of the play. Frobisher trailed her and found that she was in cahoots with Antagonia, and planning to sabotage the play. She and her goons confronted the agents who were backstage, and they had a brawl while Penn Gwynn gave a gut-wrenching soliloquy on roller skates.

As things got more heated, Penn Gwynn conjured ice blades and shields for the agents and his fellow actors (who weren't much help), and Adrienne conjured flaming scissors for her and Antagonia. She managed to storm past the agents and take the stage, engaging Penn Gwyn in a duel to the death. With great passion and effort, he came out victorious.

Somehow the agents had managed to put on a rousing show while all this was going on, and the crowd loved it!
