Storming Ninevah

Mission Statement as follows:
The Khanate of Gandhara has finished their preparations and is commencing a full-scale assault on the Sultanate of Afrikia to reclaim their missing people. A surge of telepathic and psychic energy has been traced to the capital city of Ninevah, focused on the Sultan's Palace. That is almost certainly coming from the powerful telepathic student known as Mori. The Enclave agents will port in alongside the 7th Pleiades Legion for this mission. The mission is to breach the palace gates and search the palace until the missing students are found and removed from the palace. The palace will be heavily defended so the Pleiades legionnaires will assist the agents in holding off the garrison while they search for and find the students. They must find them and get them out of the palace before the Gandharan Army overruns the city. It will take them at most 3 hours to do so. Additionally, the agents should keep an eye out for any optional objectives they may come across.
Mandatory: Prince Levan, accompanying the legion must survive as he's the only one who can calm Mori down if the surges of psychic power intensifies any further. The levels of psychic energy may have some unforeseen side effects as the mission continues, so be careful agents. The mission fails if Levan dies or if the agents fail to get the students out of the palace before the Gandharans storm the building, lest they get caught in the possible crossfire of friendly fire. (Additional information may come during assembly before mission start)

The Enclave agents Racom the Inventor and Skjaldmaer the Berserker ported into the camp of the 7th Pleiades Legion just west of the city gates of Ninevah, meeting up with the third agent on this mission, Belatrix the Brainiac, who had travelled with the Gandharans, along with Zahak's twin sister Soraya and their cousin Levan. Upon seeing the signal from the Gandharan fleet, a not-so-subtle giant arrow destroying a guard tower, the agents joined the Pleiades Legion in storming the western portion of the city to begin fighting their way to the Sultan's palace. Outside the palace, the first pulse of psychic energy hit the agents with a telepathic plea from Mori, begging for Levan to help her. As the agents and their allies fought their way through the palace guards, Racom led a small force to the rooftops for some aerial reconnaissance and some cover fire. When the ones on the ground came under fire from enemies on the palace's balconies, Racom modified some explosives to destroy the balconies and most of the enemies on them. As they made it into the palace, Racom burned one surviving enemy dressed as a Gunslinger. After taking them down, she recognized an Enclave badge on the now horribly burned enemy. The agents met up in the main hall as they continued through the palace to reach the throne room.

Passing through a large common area, a second psychic pulse hit the agents, giving them flashbacks from their backstories and previous missions they've been on. Due to the increasing psychic energy, a force of Gandharans led by one of Zahak's siblings, Khasar attacked them. Soraya and her forces held off their kin while the agents continued on with Levan. Entering the throne room, the agents found several dead guards, along with one individual on their knees with a look of pure horror on their face. As they moved further in, they saw several people tied up, unconscious but alive. Unfortunately, they also spotted several others that were dead. The throne room had a large device that looked like a mishmash of Magitek, hooked up to Mori, who was bound to a chair. Belatrix and Racom approached her as the psychic energy continued to grow, telling Mori that they were there to help her. Levan had to convince her that was true, as Mori revealed a disturbing truth: there were people with Enclave badges among those who took her in the first place.

Additional psychic pulses burst out as Belatrix and Racom worked to disconnect Mori from the device, which seemed to be amplifying her powers as well as trying to feed off of the psychic energy. The silhouette of a massive being appeared in the shadows as the device was being disconnected, taunting the agents while sending some lightning bolts in their direction. Soraya looked afraid as she recognized the silhouette as being similar to that of Momaqaldiroq, the fallen Thunder God who had previously been killed twice by her family. With the silhouette vanishing as the device was disconnected and set into some kind of loop by Racom, Soraya evacuated the agents and her people through a portal shortly before her brother Zoroaster destroyed half of the city in what can only be described as a fire based "Out of the Blue" attack in a giant form of some kind that some might say was very reckless or shortsighted.

*crash of thunder heard in the background*

(Khan Zahak is now reading this over my shoulder as I write this and he would like to point out that only he can poke fun of his big brother's "hotheadedness" So please ignore the last sentence. After a brief discussion where Soraya admitted that something has changed with her twin ever since the events of the "Mistfall" mission)..........

*Second crash of thunder heard along with howling winds*

The agents pinged out *the remaining portion of the mission log is illegible due to some form of magic*

(Next time, I'm just going to write up the mission log myself, and you lot can file it as usual. Preferably without your opinions on things that do not concern you. Remember, there are only two people in the entire Enclave that can poke fun at Zoroaster's volcanic tendencies, and the other one is far more merciful than I ever could be. Don't push your luck with the Storm King.)
