Conduit: @Jonas/Aisuna (they/she)
Status: success
Focus Words: Fight me outside; never surrender; good manners (oh god flashbacks)
Mission Statement
The capital city of Gharwen is hosting its triannual gladiatorial games, and local noblewoman Bastia Kyar-Toren has requested Enclave's help with showing up her rival, fellow games sponsor Cathal Kyar-Ardoric. Cathal's sponsored team is a shoe-in to win the games, and Bastia needs experienced agents to enter the tournament in place of her previously hired mercenaries. You'll be subjected to two rounds in the arena, but be warned — direct combat isn't the path to victory! Each round has a unique objective that the participants must complete to win.
However, winning the games won't be enough. Between rounds, Bastia has requested that you investigate Cathal's sponsored team and find evidence of his clear and obvious corruption. She's certain that he's cheating, somehow...and she won't be bothered if you have to invent your proof rather than discover it.
Mission Goal: Secure a return on Bastia's sponsorship by winning at least one of the two gladiatorial rounds, and find (or "find") evidence of Cathal's team's cheating. And don't embarrass her.
And if you guys are okay with it, we'll also try and record this mission!
Mission Summary
We beamed into realm, the first round of the arena, which transformed from a sandy canvas to a jungle layout. Three floating rings (Diamond, Gold and Silver). Braver went for the middle Diamond ring, Agni went for the nearest ring which was gold. Lady Adalind went for the Silver ring, which was furthest from us, nearest to our opposition. Lady Adalind used her dark mysticism (arcane) to create some confusion and attraction onto Barghest, they battled and eventually Adalind captured the silver ring, but ended up with Barghest on her. Thankfully the other two rings were captured. The opposition appeared to fight honourably. During the break, we eventually found some possible evidence of malfeasance. The newspaper which the other team had read showed maps of the arena, we passed this to our patron. The next arena, appeared as concentric rings, king of the hill and proved that the other team had access to the map of the arena beforehand. We all had separate battles, Lady Adalind got an admission from Marius, and she surrendered, the rest of her team followed suit. We won an arena round and we found evidence of cheating- Mission successful. Lady Adalind likes Barghest, he's both honourable and wild. Marius does not feel guilty for cheating. I believe that both he and the Tactician Anna knew beforehand.
