Mission Statement

AGENTS OF THE ENCLAVE,

THE STRICKEN LANDS, A FLOATING MICRO-NATION, IS APPROACHING THE BORDERS OF THE KHAGANATE, NEAR ONE OF OUR MOST VITAL STRATEGIC OUTPOSTS. WE HAVE TOLERATED THEIR PRESENCE FROM AFAR, BUT WE SHALL NOT ENTERTAIN SUCH AN INCURSION.

YOU WILL GO TO THIS  LAND, MEET WITH THEIR LEADERSHIP, AND HAVE THEM EITHER SWEAR FEALTY TO THE KHAGANATE OR PERMANENTLY DIVERT THEIR COURSE AWAY FROM OUR LANDS

IF YOU FAIL TO DO SO BEFORE THEY CROSS OUR BORDERS, WE SHALL UNLEASH OUR FULL WRATH UPON THESE FLOATING ISLES. YOU KNOW OF THE COSTS WE HAVE PAID FOR OUR LANDS AND LEGACY, ZAHAK. IN SUCH AN EVENT, YOU AND YOUR FELLOW AGENT WOULD NOT BE SPARED.

—THE WORD OF  KHAN XASAYAR BARZIKANI

Mission Summary

The Agents, Zahak the Thunderbird and Jack the Lithomancer, arrive at the base of a steep cliff on an island floating in the sky. Zahak senses a powerful energy coming from the top of the cliff. They scale the cliff, evading falling boulders and slinking lightning.

Upon reaching the top, the agents encountered a gigantic obelisk made of shimmering metal. It is giving off a message- "Rock to Rock." Jack uses his tremor sense, revealing that this monolith has roots in metal veins that extend all throughout this floating island. Zahak touches the obelisk, and is able to interface with it, and he realizes it is powered by living lightning.

The lightning reveals that they serve the Khan. When asked which, it does not understand the question, leaving Zahak to realize that it serves Lucifer Morningstar, the First High Kagan of the Khaganate. This lightning was cast from his bolt many many thousands of years ago, and the energy still remains, supporting these floating isles in the sky. Over time, their size has dwindled, but once they were an empire whose size rivaled the Khaganate itself. They now sought to reclaim the rocks of their former empire, many of which now make up the Khaganate itself.

Jack and Zahak tried to negotiate, going as far as to use their powers (magnified by the environment of the Khaganate and the lightning) to tear an island from the sea and attach it to the floating lands. This intrigued the lightning, but they still did not respect Jack and Zahak. It gave them a show of its power in the form of lightning, and then challenged the agents to battle, which they accepted.

Four stone ninjas emerged from pillars and attacked. Through a tough battle with some serious bumps and bruises, the agents managed to prevail.

However, after this, the stones coalesced into one titanic stone warrior, with a conical hat and gigantic electric staff. Zahak engaged his storm giant form and as he did the energy also coursed around Jack as he absorbed the rocks he had raised from the island below. They both grew to gargantuan size and an epic battle insued. Jack lost an arm, and Zahak had most of his tail flattened, but in the end they managed to break through his guard (after he was overprotecting his groin due to an abundance of crotch shots in the first round), and sent the titan careening off the island.

This impressed the lightning enough that they agreed to negotiate. Zahak told the island of more rocks in ocean ruins, a great power source from the trapped thunder God Momaqaldiroq, and a home out in the stars on a forsaken former racetrack (See Mission: Rings Around Dharossi). Zahak used the obelisk to contact the Khaganate, and a massive cohort of its leaders and technicians came. Jack pinged out as Zahak steered the rock to the location of the ruined isles. Jack pinged back in with a massive teleporter array from the Enclave and Zahak called the leadership of the Khaganate together. Together they facilitated a massive exodus of the lightning continent to the rings of Dharossi.
